FunderHut is a community-oriented crowdfunding platform that helps communities, small businesses,
nonprofits, and individuals fundraise online. Through the support of others, ambitious project creators are
able to turn their goals into reality.
What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a great new way to use the power of the crowd to raise
money for a variety of different projects and ventures. Users establish a
goal, create a project, and spread the word while other users can fund a
project of interest. The projects can be as fun, innovative, serious,
or creative as you want them to be. It goes beyond just a monetary
contribution. It allows others to actually grow with the community,
business, non-profit, or individual that they're supporting on a much
more personal, connected level.
How is FunderHut different?
We're about the community, and that's why took the four elements that
make up a well-functioning neighborhood - the civic community, small
businesses, non-profits, and the individuals and built a platform for
them to raise money online. And because our users make up the FunderHut
community, our founders take a personal interest in each of our
campaigns and provide one-on-one support. We're also the first
crowdfunding platform to offer crowdfunding consulting as a value-added option for our project creators if they choose to elect this service.
Can contributors or FunderHut take equity?
Nope, we're a rewards-based platform, no equity involved. This means if
you're a small business fundraising with FunderHut, you still walk away
with 100% ownership!
Why are funds held by FunderHut until the project completion date?
As an added layer of security for project contributors. If we smell
something fishy at any point throughout a campaign, we'll cancel it and
return the funds immediately to the contributors. Of course, please use
your best judgment when donating to a campaign.
As a project creator

What is the difference between fixed and variable funding?
With variable funding, projects receive funds regardless of quantity
raised, and do not have to necessarily reach their funding goal. Rewards
must be sent out regardless of quantity raised. With
fixed funding, project creators will only receive payment if the
project is fully funded by the end date. Rewards for fixed funding
projects will only be rewarded if the goal is achieved. Fees for fixed and variable funding.
Does FunderHut have the right to review/alter/deny any projects?
We respect the diversity of project participants, and we want awesome

right to deny projects that contain hateful, obscene, or otherwise
objectionable content or content that infringes others' intellectual
property rights. We are open to most projects but if you're on the
fence, check out our guidelines and our Terms and Conditions.
Is there a minimum or maximum dollar amount that can be raised?
While technically there are no limits, the smallest projects generally

The Community Wishlist
What is the Community Wishlist?
The Community Wishlist is an online discussion that transforms ideas
into reality. Anyone who has a suggestion for their community is
encouraged to share it with the group, or discuss ideas that have
already been posted. If a wish has the support of the community, the
person who submitted that wish can convert it into an actual, fundable
How do I turn a Wish into a project?
a wish you posted has the support of the community, locate your wish in
the Community Wishlist or in your personal profile and follow the
prompt on how to turn it into a real, fundable project. If the wish
requires special permissions and/or permits, be sure to obtain
those prior to converting your wish into a project.
Does it only have to be my community?
Our motto is: "Finding unity by funding community"... and we encourage
you to think of community as your neighborhood, your city, your state,
your country, or even the world!
How does the voting system work?
Voting occurs only within the Community Wishlist. A positive "Yay" vote
allows for a project to move up on the scale of importance to your
community. But don't get discouraged with a "Nay" vote! This is an open
discussion forum, so convince others why you feel your wish is a good
one. And above all, be polite!
What if my community doesn't have any community wishes yet?
Don't be shy, go ahead and submit a wish. Then, invite friends and family to join the discussion.
